I wanted to let you all know of a great missionary by the name of Don Mobley. He has worked faithfully as a missionary in Haiti for many years, and he has a burden for the dear people there. Since the earthquakes he has had almost 1,300 Haitians staying and sleeping in the courtyard of the mission compound. He has been trying to help in whatever way he can. "When you can't see His hand, trust His heart"

I have heard that song over the years and I always thought that it was a great song...but until April 1 I have never had to trust that heart so much.....This past month and a half I have had to face situations that I NEVER thought I would face. On April 1st I got a very devastating phone call. A week before my precious baby nephew, Nicholas Malachi was to enter this world, God took him to another world. A world that is far more beautiful then we can ever imagine....Heaven!

We don't understand why? We want him here with us. It was not supposed to be like this. Our arms are empty! But through all of the questions, the deep sadness that is so hard to get through, God has been there... He has been with Nicholas's precious parents...He is giving them the strength that they need, day by day. He has been there with us as a family...Giving us all the strength to get through this together, and to be there for each other. And He has been there for me. He is a personal God. He cares..."Oh yes He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief." It has taken me a while to share this. It still hurts...

The shock of that phone call that I received is still with me. But I am so thankful that even though we hurt and the pain is real. My God is there to help me through.

"He's my Lord, there is no other one, who can calm the storms of life, like my Lord." That song has been going through my mind all day today. As I look back, I can see that God has been calming the storm. He has been there through this storm and He will be with me in the storms that may come in the future....

Wow, it is hard to believe that I have not updated my blog since before Christmas! I apologize to you who read my blog. Not sure how many of you there are??

Anyway, we have been busy with life these last few weeks. I always think that when Christmas is over life will slow down again for a little while. But it never seems to work that way. Though it has slowed down some, we still manage to be quite busy.

I am not going to bore you with everything that we have done since I updated last. Probably would not be that interesting to you. So thanks for still checking out my blog.

I will try to update a little more faithfully in the future!

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

This song has been going through my mind today! (esp. verse 3) I am so thankful for God's faithfulness to me. He is always there and helping us when we may not even realize. I am so undeserving of God's love and faithfulness, but that does not stop him. He is still there, leading, guiding, helping, blessing.... What a great God I serve!

1. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

2. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above. Join with all nature in manifold witness, To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Quiet Place...

"He leadeth me beside the still waters, He restoreth my soul...."

Have you ever needed to be still?

To just stop and listen to God?

Or maybe talk to God about things that you do not understand?

I know that I do....
These past couple of months there have been some things that I am struggling to understand. Things that I thought or hoped that I would never have to deal with and it is hard. But I have found that I can come to God and rest in Him and He is there to lift, encourage, strengthen and give hope in these situations. I am so thankful that my God cares about me. It is comforting!

I went to this park the other day. I always knew that it was there but I never drove in.
Well last week I went over to it on my lunch break. It was a beautiful day! I sat on one of the picnic tables next to the water.
I sat for a little while and then I just started thanking God for all of my blessings and praying.
Praying for all of the many burdens that I had on my heart and God just came and felt so close to me. He met my soul in such a special way that day! It was wonderful!
I need to find that extra time to spend with my Best Friend!
It is so important and essential in our Christian walk to spend time with God...
Life can get so busy but we need to just "stop" & spend some time with the restorer of our soul!
He is waiting...
